The Disarmament and International Security Committee (DISEC) recently started discussing and debating the issue of post-conflict veteran reintegration. Many delegates acknowledged the importance of the issue, citing the need to address veteran's "psychological state" and calling upon member states to "collaborate" and "come together" to ensure that veterans are able to successfully reintegrate into society. Al-Jazeera notes that attempts to help veterans reintegrate into society should be of paramount importance, and solutions must be found to ensure that ex-combatants are able to be integrated back into society in a sustainable manner, so as to allow veterans to live in a dignified manner.
