Empathy for the Union!

By Gabe Chang and Toh Yu Qi

Update: Chernobyl disaster

The Chernobyl disaster is slowly getting out of hand and what does the Soviet government plan to do? People are pressuring the government for information on the Chernobyl accident. We are still awaiting the statements of the Politburo.

On the other hand, the Soviet government has now begun large-scale crisis management, evacuating civilians around the affected area. Vladimir Orlov, Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Russian SFSR issued a statement blaming the west for “sabotaging our nation’s greatest nuclear achievement”.

Update: Moscow Protests

In response to a recent military manoeuvre by the First Deputy Chief of the Moscow Military District Yurii Shatalin, Moscow protestors are now taking up arms. An unknown petrol bomb had exploded and the Armed Forces had opened fire against the protestors. Is this action by the Armed Forces an act against the idea of Glasnost?

Empathy: The drive for aid

As Vitaly Fedorchuk said in today’s debate session: “we must rally as one……(be) empathetic to the people…...take care of the Motherland…...and welfare of the people”. Empathy will become an influential reason in which Soviets will be receiving more help if they are caught in the apocalyptic chaos of the Chernobyl disaster. The people can finally rest their minds on the fate of their loved ones. We should see truckloads of medical supplies and civil workers rushing to build temporary shelters in Moscow in the coming days. Mikail Gorbecez is pushing for more humanitarian aid for the victims of the Chernobyl disaster.

-Vitaly Fedorchuck, Minister for Internal Affairs

A Virtue of communism

It is in the good faith of the Politburo, the empathy of the Politburo, that the situation on the Chernobyl disaster has not got any worse. In fact, empathy is a virtue of communism! We have seen comrades protesting for Glasnost and the court hearings being public. These comrades protest because they emphasise with their audience and they are willing to fight for them. With loyal communists like these, we can see a brighter future for the Soviet Union. As a call for all comrades, the Politburo is encouraging help from the public in terms of voluntary work instead of armed combat against accused parties in light of recent situations.

Forward with empathy, forward with communism!

In conclusion, with communism and empathy, the Soviet Union will be able to proceed with achievements economically and the lives of all our comrades! Let us allow better morals to be the leading driver in what we do and everyone’s lives will benefit. As such, we should expect the Politburo to continue being empathetic towards the people in the Soviet Union and offer help to those in need in future circumstances.

For the Glory of the Soviet Union!
