Interview with Vitaly Fedorchuk, the Minister of Interior Affairs

Interviewer: We will be asking you a few questions regarding the Chernobyl disaster. Firstly, many people are affected by this crisis what does the government plan to do to provide support for the affected

Fedorchuk: Firstly I would like to affirm to the people that the Communist Party will always stand with you and I will serve the people with empathy looking out for your needs and still bearing in mind Glasnost, being transparent with you and being accountable to you. I will never give them up, I will never let them down and never turn around and desert them. I have provided food, medical aid and housing for the people. As per the preliminary investigations of my comrades and I, We have ascertained that the cause of the disaster is due to an a send American spy sent by the CIA. Look at the capitalist West trying to shake up Our populace and our motherland. This is unacceptable especially in our motherland, we must not let the capitalist West take over us for our standing as a global superpower.

Interviewer: Okay thank you very much the next question with the current narrative that the West is to blame how do you plan to assure citizens to instill trust in the government

Fedorchuk: It is obvious to all, especially the people who can see that it is the capitalist West who is out to make the Communist Party look bad. We must stand in solidarity in the spirit of communism and the spirit of nationalism. We must not let such external influences affect our way of life. Communism is the way to go; stay with us, stand with us, support us. Trust the Communist Party and our accountability, trust our policies and our directives.

Interviewer: Moving on, what do you have to say regarding the Pripyat citizens who were ushered out of the area and transported to Moscow with no shelter afforded to them? Was it a case of governmental incompetence?

Fedorchuk:I would like to address this question by coming from a standpoint that we are evacuating people for the welfare of the people. We evacuated the people from Pripyat, Ukraine in hopes of saving as many lives and property as possible, within the shortest period of time. I believe this has been worked out comprehensively with me, the minister of interior affairs, the KGB, Chief of satellite state police as well as many other stakeholders. We did so to quickly evacuate the people to prevent them from experiencing the initial fallout of the explosion. Looking at this, we are serving the people with empathy at the heart of what we do. The people might not understand it right now but soon they will realize that our intentions are pure and we serve solely the people with accountability and transparency. As for the housing issue, I have looked into it and have brought up many of my speeches within the council that housing, apart from medical aid as well as food, must be given to the people. You can rest assured that the Minister of Interior Affairs, alongside the Communist Party, stands with the people in solidarity and supporting the people as much as they need regardless of how the capitalist West tries to portray us as evil.

Interviewer: Do you think the glasnost policy will help in mitigating public unrest regarding the incident? Would that make glasnost ineffective by worsening the situation?

Fedorchuk: Glasnost is minimally what the people deserve. We, the Communist Party, work for the people with the people. We will, and have always agreed with Mikhail Gorbachev on Glasnost and Perestroika. You, the Soviet people, deserve nothing less than the truth. Truth lies in us, the Communist Party, and we will provide you with transparency and accountability in our policies and directives. As for how it might possibly worsen the trust of the people, I don't think that is the case, as us being open with the people and involving people in our politics, allows them to have a political understanding and be at ease. With such a state of mind, I hope that the Soviets will focus on improving the economy by working in their vocations as serving the nation. As such, the Soviet Union will continue to thrive and survive as a global superpower for many years to come. With such, we will surpass the evil and capitalist press regardless of what is to happen

Interviewer: Okay, is there anything else you would like to add?

Fedorchuk: No, thank you.

Through our interview with the Minister of Interior Affairs, Mr Vitaly Fedorchuk, we concluded that the Chernobyl Disaster was a result of the capitalist West. As for the victims of this disaster, the communist government is working to help and provide them with the necessary essentials. They are also making use of Glasnost to be accountable for the victims, in hopes to regain their trust in them. Hence, the government is putting in their utmost effort to help the situation.
